I am extremely happy we bought our first sailboat through Scott Pickard and St. Barts Yachts. It started with a phone call where I had a couple quick questions about one of the listings, and Scott spent almost an hour walking me through the process of buying a used sailboat, discussing things to look out for, and suggesting additional books and resources. We don’t live in the area so he worked around our schedule to show us the boat over a weekend, which turned out to be fairly redundant given the amount of information, pictures, and video in the listing. Once under contract Scott provided contact info for several local surveyors, setup the haul out at a nearby boatyard, and captained the boat for the sea trial. And despite hurricane Florence leaving Oriental flooded and without power or internet, Scott still kept in contact via text message and the Charleston office was able to handle the closing remotely. Scott was so helpful throughout the whole process, and it was clear he cared more about ensuring we had the right boat for our family than making the commission.
