"Best and Final" is an 1982  Passport 40, she is one of the best of the first generation of performance cruisers. She was designed by Robert Perry." Best and Final" has been well cared for through the years, with the current owner updating the vessel over the last seven years. Most of the updates where completed between 2014-2016. Some of these updates and upgrades are: The removal of the teak decks, the hull was repainted with Awl Grip, dodger, bimini, electronics, Doyle sails, Doyle Stack pack, electric windlass, Profurl furler, anchor chain, Tides Marine mainsail track, AGM batteries, air conditioning/heat, counter tops, interior LED lights, 12 v fans, water heater, electric head, 4 inch foam interior cushions, 3 burner propane stove/oven, and much more. The Passport 40 was introduced in 1980 and has become one of Perry's more successful designs. The vessel has a sensible interior, high quality Taiwanese build and outstanding sailing characteristics. Deck
The deck and cockpit layout is a well designed for off shore sailing, there’s room for four to five with wide seats. The cockpit has coamings that are trimmed in teak, large cockpit drains, and plenty of locker space. All lines are lead aft for control, and the main winches are within easy reach of the helm. The side decks are wide with a molded in bulwark that provides a secure feel when moving to the fore-deck. The boat has a single bow roller and an electric lewmar windlass with a remote to the cockpit.
