The 445 is a sleek comfortable cruiser that due to its design pedigree from Gerry Douglas would be comfortable on the local yacht club race course also.  R & R is an exceptionally clean boat and equipped to take you anywhere you want to go.  From her generator, redundant charging system, solar panels, insulated hatch covers to her custom Seadek surfaces in the cockpit she has everything that you could want.
This is the best cruising equipped 445 on the market right now if you do a side by side equipment comparison of the boats currently listed.  For cruisers that really want the absolute best she is currently set up for the installation of a large bank of lithium ion phosphate batteries with a new Victron inverter/charger, Victron BMV, and Victron solar controllers.

R&R's solar panels are a total of 570 Watts twice the capacity of the other boats on the market.  The states that by mid-day the batteries are easily topped back off from the previous night and they will keep up with autopilot, instruments and refrigeration on passages!

The owner of R&R has dutifully kept up with the maintenance and cosmetics for this Catalina. Everything from reconditioning sails, to new electronics, to paint and gel coat. If you want a vessel "ready to cruise," this is your opportunity!

Accomodations
She is laid out with 1 single berth and 3 double berths.  There are two separate heads and showers one in the forward stateroom to port and the second aft on the starboard.

On Deck
Catalina leads sail controls to the cabintop in the same configuration on all the boats in the line. If you know one Catalina you know them all. Traveler controls for both sides are led to one point, so you don''t switch spots to adjust. When you live with a boat, these things matter, and if you are fortunate enough to have berthing that allows you to board via the transom, life on a 445 could not be easier. Twin independent backstays provide extra security for the mast and open the stern passageway. A dedicated electronics hotspot just forward of the traveler (and clear of foot traffic) eliminates a forest of antennas on the transom.
Add twin wheels and transom lifelines that open with pelican hooks, then retract and disappear, and there''s a clear passage from the swim step to a cockpit that is highly fit for entertaining. The table holds an insulated cooler, handrails, engine panel, and a chart-plotter housing that rotates port/starboard.

The back of the house is properly squared off so that you can rest against it at sea. Trust me on this one: curved seating is great for cocktail time, but when you''re putting on the miles you spend time resting your back against the house, or stretched out sleeping, and this cockpit is long enough for that.

A Seldon rig with in-mast furling is standard; vertical battens aid mainsail shape.  The spar is deck-stepped to the top plate of a compression post. This configuration lessens noise below while eliminating the leaks of keel-stepped masts. Genoa tracks are 13''9" long to accommodate adjustments to large overlapping headsails.

On Deck
The decks of the 445 are uncluttered and easy to get around at the dock or at sea.  The shrouds are inboard enough to allow easy passage forward.  There are 6 opening deck hatches and 4 opening ports that allow plenty of light and air through the boat.  The hatches all have insulated covers also.
